I didn’t know I wanted to be a mom until I met my husband, and then I couldn’t imagine not being a mom.

The day I became her mama started a journey that essentially has no tangible destination (which can be tough for a goal setting go getter) but is full of much purpose. Everyday tests my limits and sanity and yet the whole world can be washed away by her laugh. Whining never helps, but wine certainly does.

She knows that there is a time for work and a time for play and that it is okay to value and encourage fun into our lives. She knows who the Beatles are, is a huge fan of Billy Preston, thinks Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is the funniest name she’s ever heard and asks anyone from Germany if they’ve been to Stuttgart.

So I was thrilled when walking through the Chastain Park Arts Festival that she grabbed me and said that I need my picture taken at this booth.

LIving the dream

She doesn’t read these posts, but she knows that the idea of living the dream is my life. For me it’s about making decisions that feed my soul, give space to live a creative life, and find ambitious fulfillment in all aspects of my life. I’m always seeking ways to feel connected to the people and places in my world.
