Part of leveraging your time is managing it. Honestly, I kind of dislike the term “Time Management”. We’re all given the same amount of time, so it’s not really about managing it, it is more about respecting it and ourselves.
Often, you’ll find I’m talking to the work from home solo-preneur. Mostly because that is what I know. In most cases it’s just me running and righting the ship.
A reward for a job well done can be a great incentive. Of course I hear the opposite is also true.
Self discipline is a skill some are born with and others must cultivate. It is one of the single most important skills to possess in order to achieve a goal and the number one reason most fail to keep New Years resolutions.
You see, there is a difference between wanting something and creating a goal to attain that which you want.
People I may have been too intimidated to make a sales call on (for what ever reason) could be invited out for coffee to “network”. I could then use these meetings to gather information and connect people within my network and boom, my contact list became a resource for giving and not just for getting!
We really can’t control what someone does with the information we share, but we can control if, when and how we share it.
We’re pumped up in the meetings, we’ve named it and claimed it, but when the motivation wears off we’re left with the image of what could be, still stuck in our heads.
It means knowing that you are probably not blazing any new trails and that there was someone who came before you that you can learn from. Mentor, coach, copy… what ever you want to call it.
